JSVR（The Japanese Society of Volleyball Research) aims to render services to the volleyball-related scientific research and its development, while making contribution to the practice of volleyball by encouraging research cooperation and communication among the members to foster growth of volleyball as a culture.
Furthermore, our objective is to systematize our past volleyball-related research and to establish a new volleyball studies as a place for information exchange.
We strive to study volleyball in scientific aspects to provide beneficial information to the coaches and deploy energetic activities to contribute to the national and international development and popularization of volleyball.
In 1996, "A Society for the Study of Volleyball" was established, and the name was changed to "A Society of Volleyball Research" in 1999. It was renamed again in 2009 as we stand presently as "The Japanese Society of Volleyball Research".
